Really Samsung! The new one connect box for the TVs are 15.5W and 3" H
How are those supposed to fit behind the TV?

I don't think it's all the One Connects across the entire product line, but jsut the higher-end sets.  I got my first Q9FN (75") in last week and took some photos and measurements of the new box.

It's about 15-1/2" long x 5" deep (plus connectors) x 2-5/8" tall.

This new box includes the TV power supply so it's only the single Cone Connect cable between TV and the One Connect Box (no outlet needed behind TV).

I'm sure this appeals to the masses who are self installing and don't want to mess with adding an outlet, but creates some challenges for us.

This new One Connect box also uses a different cable than the small fiber cable from the 2017 models.  It's a little larger and contains a braided power cable... if you're ordering the longer 49ft cables make sure to get the right one that matches your TV model.

The Q7 and Q9 have those ridiculous beasts.

I can't imagine how they would modify then entire friggin' One Connect idea so that it's not stoooopid. Unless, of course, they come up with a way to use standard old connectors, such as DB-9s.

In the past, ANY TV that requires a custom multi-conductor cable is going to be a nightmare for someone, sooner or later.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

The 8000 series has no magic box at all.
There is no truth anymore. Only assertions. The internet world has no interest in truth, only vindication for preconceived assumptions.

Step one: use your studfinder to see where the stud roughly is (hope you’re right)
Step two: use your fist to punch a hole in the drywall
Step three: drop that shiz down in there.

The Q6 and Q8 don't use the one connect box so use those if you don't want the one connect box.

Note to self: The target of Step two is NOT the place located in Step one.

Indeed, and my apologies I’ve been experiencing some slight burnout lately but it’ll turn around.

The 2018 model line-up is different... I don't know all the changes, but maybe your Q6 was a 2017 model?  If so, I think bricor is correct.

I installed a 2018 Q8 in a lift today and it did not have the One Connect box so I can confirm the latest Q8 models have direct connectison on the back, but not certain about the Q6.
