Has any come up with a mounting box or other solution to put one of these outside open to the elements?? Electric is right there-- other Sonos units not too far away so mesh network is fine-- just need to protect the unit from the weather.

Googled it and see many requests for a solution but no answers.

Somebody must have found some enclosure somewhere that works??

A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

OK, I'll bite- how do you expect to hear it, or are you planning to open the enclosure when it's being used?

I would use a Sonos Connect Amp and outdoor speakers, as long as the network reaches.

I'm wrestling with my brother on this very question. If you want to roll the dice, bring the Play:1 in/out every time you use it. Otherwise, pony up and buy the Connect:Amp and traditional outdoor speakers. Don't try to invent something in between.

Mentioned a couple times already (and im sure a few more times before this thread leaves the front page)...get a connect amp, and outdoor speakers. If you cant locate the connect amp inside get an outdoor water resistant enclosure.

If you want an outdoor portable product try soundcast https://www.gosoundcast.com/
