Anyone know of some temp agencies for AV techs? We can use help when we get busy. We’ve tried craigslist, Home Depot, etc, but not good solutions. It’s too far and few between to hire someone on a permenant basis.

Thanks.

You may be able to find an electrician with slow periods or, similar to yourself, can't yet justify keeping another full time person. Both of you could draw from a pool of junior "floaters".

I would call a local vocational/tech school that has courses for electricians. Ask to talk to a teacher and ask which ones seem more conscientious about cabling, which ones ask more intelligent questions and who asks about topics that may be outside of their normal realm.
My mechanic told me, "I couldn't repair your brakes, so I made your horn louder."

I’ve had good luck partnering up with other av companies to help each other out in situations like this.
You help them and they help you.
Personally i like it as it also can help if your slow and vice versa. You also get to experience how others may do something different than how you would have approached it and learn a better way.
Also look at commercial guys as this can provide a great learning experience as well.
When i lived up north i used to work with a commercial guy on a regular basis. It was my first experience with fiber. We linked two buildings at a forge together in the middle of winter that were thousands of feet apart. A very different environment to residential.

This. I've had good success with this in the past, as well.

BTX and Almo both offer temp labor services.
