I have a few of them in my box of AV Garbage, and was wondering if you guys have used these CNRFGWA RF gateways ( in a non-oem way ) to talk to other remotes, brands, devices... Just curious, I heard in the past that something like this could be done... not important at all.... but let me know if have done something with these in the past. thanks

I'm about to tie one to a URC outdoor remote for the season. Not cool but so needed.

When I first read this, I wondered how the antenna would deliver data that URC equipment (for instance) could use. Any ideas about that?
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

There are many Crestron systems out there using RTI remotes for basic one way control. Someone could use them to service older systems.

Crestron used a re-labeled MX-800 or 850 for a while- I think it was around 2004-2006.

Lots of systems still have ML-5/600s or WPR-48s and use the 418 gateways.

You can still tie in RTI and URC remotes with the 433 and 418 gateways.

If you have issues with your nose or are kinky the antennas can be useful in interesting ways.

I just pulled two from a system. They have very little value and sadly not worth storing. I don't think they ever fail so your client will need to upgrade the whole system before they need to replace a gateway.

I use an URC MX900 through a Crestron CNRFGWA-418 along with iPhones, iPad, Samsung galaxy edge s7 and an Alexa with Crestron skills . The MX900 works flawlessly and makes surfing things like a cable box much easier then the touch screens or Alexa skills.

I just programmed a MX-890 to work with a 418 gwa, It's working, but i need to keep holding the buttons pressed more than just a single tap in order for the gateway actually blink and receive the signal, making it almost impossible to navigate icons, or a guide.... am I doing something wrong? is there an adjustment to make?
