Used to be the spam calls would kind of go away for awhile, if I just didn't answer the phone.

Then most started sending a text if I didn't answer.

Now I'm getting spam with a very weird phone number that always rings and rings, until the voice message begins.

These numbers start with a V and a lengthy series of numbers. V60718394800015 is the latest.

I just don't get it. what are the people behind this crap hoping to get?

I don't get it either.

On a typical day I get 3-4 spam phone calls and 1-2 spam texts.
Got a text yesterday to let me know that my Chase ATM card had been compromised and I needed to contact them ASAP.
I don't have a Chase account.

How do you think she got to be spam saleswoman of the year?

Answer it and if you hear "Is Viktor- you have thing we discussed, yes?", call the proper authorities.
My mechanic told me, "I couldn't repair your brakes, so I made your horn louder."

So, several calls today. Even the one "This is the IRS, and if you dont call this number back, you're going to jail.".

Was wondering why these calls were coming in on the home number since that's not been a problem before. Found out the wife had put the number up on her Linked IN page just last week, while applying for a new job.

Apparently Linked IN has no qualms about selling everyone's info....

1) It almost seems everyone is into selling customer info these days. Even those that say they don't/won't.

2) Don't underestimate the power of bots to crawl thru a website an extract names, numbers, or anything else listed.

I received a call today, offering a free trip to Orlando. You can ask my pocket about the details. (Yes, I put the microphone on Mute before pocketing the phone.) They’ve called many times. Eventually they’ll figure out that my pocket is not interested in their scheme.

buzz, they are just trying to get close to your... uh.... pocket.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

I received several today on both my work and personal cell phone. I answered and hit the prompts to get to a live person. Then I just kept asking them to hold on a few minutes. Yes, I was bored and in one of those FU moods.

I wish that I was on a high Taco diet. In that case I would not have muted toe phone.
