Trying to reset Sony RM-AV 2500 to factory settings. I have done the battery out, press volume- and Channel- then putting battery back in and releasing both buttons. I do not get OK on the screen. I get nothing on the screen. It is blank. Also I checked and the remote is NOT set on the preset lock to protect all the settings. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Steve

Not familiar with this unit, but looks like it requires hitting the buttons twice to reset it. Also, it mentions you “may” need to reprogram after replacing the batteries. Would try to leave batteries out for a while and give it a few button presses to fully drain it. On the other hand, it may have simply died.

Oooh old school one! I worked for a Sony only store years ago and you could build a pretty darn decent system with that. It was $199 at the time.

Sounds like its broke. Not really all that surprising. I probably haven't touched one in 12 years at this point...

Do those two buttons work normally otherwise? And it's also not in usage lock either?

Have not tested if ch- and volume- are working. I did check and the remote is NOT in preset lock.
