The new Toshiba DLP RPTV's supposedly don't repond to the old discrete power commands. Can anyone confirm this? There was a post alluding to this over in the discrete forum but no confirming post.

Hard to believe that Toshiba would eliminate discrete power without providing a new one. These are decent TV's and a nice alternative to the Samsungs. But the lack of discrete power (if indeed this is so) could be a problem in me specifying it into my smaller systems.

Anyone have any experience in these TV's?

Toshiba has been historically non-discrete friendly so it wouldn't surpise me.

I am pretty sure they still work.

I've got one in the office. I'll test it out tomorrow.

I am using the MX3000 with discrete codes and it works great. Just be sure to run the live update on MX300 Editor in order to get the new codes.

I did a live update with MX700 Editor and the cose were ther also. Downloaded them into the MX700 and the doscrete power codes DO work. So that completes my feelings that this is a very good TV. It has a marvelous picture, once calibrated. It has discrete input commands (well actually the input command, followed by the number for the corresponding input and the same is truer for discrete aspect ratio control. It takes mutiple formats of picture cards, has firewire inputs (haven't tried it yet with my D-VHS though) and hdmi inputs. Pretty cool TV and a good alternative to the Samsungs.
