To be brief:

IC Realtime unit died, so the 7600 was selected as a replacement.

Tried to migrate IP cameras over, but they won't show up in the main view. I can connect to them all and configure them individually, and I can view them elsewhere in the NVR's setup menus...I just can't get them to be 'added' to the main grid view.

So I do some reading and see that I'm a couple versions of firmware behind. OK, so I'll update that - going in 2 steps, as directed by the README.

After the update, the password (and unlock pattern) we set no longer works. There is no default password, I think, since it makes you select one when the unit first fires up. The user login dialog box has a bunch of gibberish in it, too. Can't enter anything there.

So I contact Hikvision for the reset procedure, and they reply favorably, but their response doesn't fit their own script of what's supposed to happen (they say they'll reply with an .xml file named 'encrypt' which you load in to reset the password, but I *think* they either forgot to attach the file or modified the name of the file I send).

So now I'm 2 steps behind on this thing. I'm waiting to hear back from tech support on this one, but I figured I'd ask while I wait. Any suggestions at all? Thanks!
