I have some commercial applications were I would like cable boxes with IP Control. The cable provider in most cases is Spectrum or Comcast. I have used TiVo to achieve this but TiVo does come with its set of issues such as the TiVo Bolt goes to sleep after a certain amount of time eventhough I have disabled the sleep feature on the TiVO Bolt which causes the other TiVo Mini to show as no network connection.
Customers do like the TiVo app with the guide eventhough it is not as good as the DirecTV app which has a home page with a overview of all the receivers and the channels they are tuned too.
Is there something out there that is more geared to commercial applications to stay on all the time with multiple tuners through 1 cable card and offers IP control similar to DirecTV?

Global Caché and IR emitters is always an option, but IR control is not as positive as a good IP protocol.

As I recall, an IR command will wake the Bolt. From an overall system design standpoint this seems contorted, but in a pinch you could add Global Caché IR used strictly for the wake-up. With a control system you could bury the wake-up command and not bother the user with this detail.

Bolts go to sleep and then minis show no network connection? they wont turn the bolt on?

How is it possible that I have never run into that in that past several years? I've got at least a dozen extensive Bolt based systems with clients that often go out of town for weeks at a time and tivo not working is never one of their complaints.

I've never had a bolt go to sleep unless I send it the sleep command.

I had one do it for about 6 months then it stopped sleeping. The whole time sleeping was turned off.

Yes im not sure why it happens. The sleep on the bolt is off.
What would be awesome is maybe a rackmount unit with about 4-5 tuners, that works with a cable card that can be controlled over IP with 4-5 HDMI outputs for each tuner. I am not sure why this has not been developed yet or maybe it has but I have not found something as of yet.

Just saw this thread. Have a system this happens to all the time. Client is out of town for weeks at a time and I have to go in to get system going after each time.
