I've tried multiple cables on multiple TVs trying to use Ex-Link and haven't been able to get it to work. Does anyone have any extra information on how to get it to work?

How to get it to work depends on your control product so it's hard to answer that. Ask your control vendor. For instance, Simple Control provides a specific cable made for Samsung EX-Link.
But also, there is no confirmation that EX-Link is working/enabled yet on 2018 models so that could also affect success.
