Doorbird allows the video feed to be added to an NVR - eliminating the need for cloud recording subscription. Do any consumer level video doorbells allow an NVR to access the feed? (Ring, nest?)

Hikvision is supposed to be coming out with their own that will include an SD card slot for on board recording. It was released and then pulled back. Supposedly will be re-released 3rd or 4th quarter this year

Sounds interesting I was set to pick one up to test at my house but they pulled them all back from distribution for some reason. I'm eagerly awaiting their re-release to try it out.

It has multiple issues One issue is that it has some compatibility issues with some doorbell transformers. Mine used to create a low level vibration that was simply annoying every time I’d walk by. It’s this reason that nest hello has a part that attaches to the chime. It also had an issue with updating its software. I actually had a Clare employee at my house witness these issues.

They realized they work too well. They needed to cook in a few bugs to keep the tech support guys busy. On April 30, 2018 at 16:58, goldenzrule said...

Such as...? Hik is my go to but I don't do much surveillance. It'll be good to know what to steer clear of. On April 30, 2018 at 17:40, ichbinbose said...

We've had a few issues with Clare, but we've worked them out. They are now on Ver2, which makes setup easier.
We haven't had any vibration on doorbells here. Clare has a kit which includes a transformer. A resistor is included as well.

I just did LTS same thing as Hikvision, could not hear the person talking, lag was pitiful. Actually replacing the doorphone card and doorphones to an old Panasonic PBX so they can have a doorbell again. None of these including Ring, are ready for PRIMETIME.
