Never needed a web site since I'm a one man show and everything is referrals. I tried to sign up for a vendor that requires a web site; have to finally do one. Who do you guys recommend for a basic DIY web site?

I can't comment on DIY websites because I have never used any of those free builder tools. As far as hosting...

Dreamhost and LiquidWeb. Dreamhost is significantly less expensive but should meet your needs. I switched to them after a decade at anhosting/midphase. Much better speed and reliability. LiquidWeb is the Crestron of hosting. More expensive...rock solid and absolutely worth it...if you need it.

Also...you could contact Paul to put up a few pages like home/about/services/contact. Or possibly a single scrolling page with those elements in it.

Yeah, what he said.

I can build it out for you and also provide the hosting/maintenance.

I'll be out this morning, but will be back in the afternoon if you'd like to talk.

My email address is in my signature.  Shoot me an email.

Squarespace. I've been pretty happy with it.

I made another video!

Not trying to pick on anyone.  I want to show you guys the differences between a DIY type site like Wix, SquareSpace, etc. and a site that you've hired out.

Ironically, it's very similar to a customer who wants to design/install their av system.  Sure, it might work in the end, but it would look and work better if they called you to do it.

Hopefully, the video will shed some light on the subject.

I'll probably have Paul do my website but I want to be able to make small changes myself; add pics for the portfolio, documents to send to clients etc. Which hosting service is the easiest in that aspect and what should I ask Paul for? I have zero interest in getting new clients from the web site; it is strictly for professional appearance.

Have Paul build your site with wordpress. Wordpress is hosted software that lets you build and manage your site. From any browser on any computer you can login to wordpress and update your site.

Paul also offers hosting. IMO this is the path of least resistance. He can maintain your site and keep wordpress & plugins updates. If you break something while making "small changes" you have a pro who can fix it.

Sorry, I'm a little late to the party here.  Give me a call and we'll get you rolling. I have my own hosting, and I like Mac said, I maintain everything for you so you don't have to worry about it.

Most guys are in the same boat as you as far as their needs.

I even add portfolio images to site for my clients..There are plenty of guys on here that send me images for their sites on a regular basis.  However, if for some reason you want to do it on your own, I just set up a Google Hangout with you once the site is done and walk you through how to do things.

In short, I handle everything from setting up the domain name, hosting, site, security, backups, etc.

I try to make it easy for you guys.  :)

734 Seven Seven 2 Four Four 1 Five  Call anytime.  Typically takes 20-30 min to put a plan together.

What I mainly need to know is what services you offer, and the manufacturers you work with.  I have a complete library of images, etc. needed for the site.
