Perhaps the TiVo remote is the one remote you
will want to use no matter what.

I was a bit surprised to realize this: the way
the TiVo remote is laid out, and the shape of
the remote and the shapes of the buttons, all
make the TiVo remote incredibly easy to use without
looking at it. Once you are used to it, it can
become almost automatic.

I assume that you are speaking of the Sony T-60 type remote, not those that come with the Hughes/Rca boxes. The Sony remote in my opinion is the best remote to ever come packaged with an electronic product. The only serious deficiencies were a lack of a PIP button and perhaps a Ratio button for setting aspect ratios. With these buttons, many Home Theatre Mx 500's probably would have never be sold. Both products are excellent.

The infamous Peanut is not near as user friendly and the lack of tactile response(spongy buttons), and the layout of the buttons and ease of reading labels are all areas that put them in a group behind the Sony's.
