We have an office TV that isn't turning on anymore and it's only 2 years old. When I issue a power command, the white light turns on for 1 second then turns off (this occurs every 3 or 4 power commands). The display never comes on. Is it a power supply issue? I haven't taken it off the wall yet to troubleshoot the circuitry and would rather not. I've also tried a factory reset 3 or 4 times. XBR-49X830C

Thanks

Press and hold the power button on the Sony remote about 10 seconds and see what happens.

Thanks for the response!

First time I tried it: nothing happened for the first 8 seconds then the power light came on for a second and faded off.
Second time I tried it: the power light turned on immediately then faded off 1 second later and it also did the same thing towards the end of the 10 second wait.

I would prefer to repair it myself since it's mine and I've done enough TV repair to know it's a pretty easy fix if it's a board or power supply issue.

You can often fix power supplies by inspecting the ps board for capacitors with bulging tops. Can also check them with an ESR meter, not very expensive. If you find 85 degree rated caps, replace with 105 degree.

I suppose you have googled it?

On the back panel of the TV:

Press and Hold Power and Volume -
Unplug TV, wait 10 seconds, plug it back in
While continue to hold power and volume - unplug and replug TV.

This should return the TV to the virgin out of the box state.

That's hold 2 buttons, unplug and replug 2 times.

Already tried that and it didn't resolve anything.
