I installed a Sony 65" Z9D last month and from day 1 it has had an issue powering on.  First time you try to power it on the little white light on the bottom will come on but the screen will not power on.  The white light will turn off after 5 or so seconds.  After a couple tries of this it will finally power on.  After it is on, you can power it down and back on with no issue, that is for about 10 minutes.  Letting the TV sit for 10 minutes and the issue will come back.  I tried programming some delays in the remote to send a second power command with no luck.  I also isolated the power for the TV to a second panamax power conditioner (via a power bridge kit) with no luck.  I check settings and went into the pro mode and back out and nothing works.

I HATE Sony service and this is a brand new TV that had the issue out of the box.  The install was past our two week period we could return it due to the snow storms.  No joke, every time we had an appointment we got hit by a big storm.  Any recommendations?  Never seen an issue like this before.

Wanted to add, when powering the TV on finally after this cycle of the white light coming on and back off a few times, the Android icon things that come up when first powered on come up.  They typically will not be seen after set up on any Sony I have worked with.

Also, CEC is off on everything and I even tested by unplugging HDMI from the receiver so no source was connected to the TV.

You might get lucky with a factory reset.

Set on, Hold Cursor Up on remote, Hold actual Power button on TV until reset message, let go buttons.
Technology is cheap, Time is expensive.

In addition to Rob's recommendation; did you do the latest firmware update on the TV? I had an issue with a Z9D shutting down randomly on me until I did the firmware update. Worked fine after that.

Brad, yes it was updated to the latest firmware at installation.  TV is hardwired just as an fyi.

Rob, you posted that suggestion right around the same time I was leaving.  I didn't see it until just now.  I will see if I can get the client to try this, or will have to try on a return trip.  Thanks.
