Does either mfg allow for a 90 degree rotation via hardware or programmatically? Have an existing Elan DS that I’d like to replace without a stucco patch. TIA.

AFAIK you cna't go horizontal with a ring, but I have limited experience with it. My friend bought a house that had an old Nutone system in it.  We yanked it out and then he didn't have a doorbell.   We removed the Nutone doorbell, he had a piece of wood cut and routered to look nice and then screwed to the recessed rough in rack of the Nutone doorbell.

I thought it was going to look like a turd on a stick...It actually looks nice...But it was all the carpenter...the carpenter took some time and put some pretty cool styling into it with his router.

Appreciate the input! Creativity always picks up where functionality leaves off.
