My GF has a Mac laptop. Unsure what OS she is using. She has a couple of business she runs and wants to start using QB for her accounting.
I use QB Premier 2014 for my biz. So I can help her set up her chart of accounts and teach her how to make entries, etc
When I started poking around looking at various versions of QB for Mac OS, all I saw were monthly subscription programs. She just wants to buy the program one time (CD hard copy too, not download) and not get into the QB RMR model.
No need for payroll module. No need for cloud access. No need for iPhone or iPad versions
Anyone here use a Mac for QB? I may try to call Intuit and pick their brain (which will probably be painful)

You could install a Windows Virtual Machine on the Mac. From my side of the software table the RMR model stinks, but I understand that the buy once, use forever model is not much fun from the other side either.

2016 was the last desktop version they did for Mac before discontinuing it. Even if it was still around, I'd go with Parallels and the Windows version because there were always limitations.
