New Samsung Qled TV with Samsung HW-K950 Soundbar.

Tried 2 different ways... HDMI into soundbar first then to TV into ARC, and also HDMI direct into TV with fiber optical out to soundbar.

Both work fine with original remote... volume up and down work well..
I have switched audio outputs to match my above connections when testing.
The remote shows volume up and down ramping regardless of optical or ARC, whatever I have it set up.

I am controlling TV through RS232 and when I try Vol+ or Vol - TV shows either ARC or optical, depending on how I hooked it up above. But only shows that.
It doesnt ramp the volume on the soundbar

I have the soundbar set for ALL-TV REMOTE so that the Tv remote controls the soundbar volume....

When I remove the soundbar from the TV and use the RS232 codes, the power and all volume controls the TV perfectly.

If I reintroduce the soundbar the same result happens on the screen showing just "optical" or "bluetooth" pops up but no ramping...

Ive tried everything, even checking firmware etc... am I missing something?

99% sure it only works via IP and the Bluetooth remote. I had the unfortunate experience of doing this last year. Doing research about using remotes a post same up on AVS about a harmony not controlling both. Somebody posted about it only working via Bluetooth and IP control. I can’t find that post again for you :(

I used IP control and it worked. Any chance you can switch to IP?

No.... Its RTI and the driver was available and didn't work at all.and now has disappeared from the driver store.. I was on WIFI so that may have made a difference. I tried IP, friendly name etc. NO GO.

Samsung support came back with something about RS232 gets converted after the TV and through the ARC/HDMI connection so we may have to switch to IR...

Samsung had such conviction that what we were doing was soooo weird. :)

Seemed simple to me... but look where it got me..
