Does anyone still use mini cable for rack interconnects? I love the Belden 1855A "Sub-Miniature Cable" because is so thin and so flexible, but the price keeps going up and order times are just longer and longer ($268/500'), not to mention connectors ranging from $2.50-$3.00 each.
What do you use for interconnects? Anything similar? RG6Q blows.

Planetwaves cable and connectors.
Trust me, your hands will thank me. Very easy termination, cable is very flexible.
Connectors can be somewhat pricey, but when compared to the labor savings cost, it's a no brainer.

I'd ask Tom why he'll sell it so cheap....

If there is any interest, I can sell 1000' of Belden 1855A for $319, so significantly less than what you are paying. Generally, it is available to ship immediately.
We haven't launched yet, but we will soon have a web store for Belden bulk cable and, pre-terminated cable. In the mean time, you are welcome to PM me.

What I have is a partial spool of mini RGB that has no black sheath. All 5 cables are there, so conceivably you could peel off whatever length of whichever color you want and terminate it.
If there's 100-150' times 5 that's a good number of patch cords. I can take a pic if anyone wants to see it.

Planet waves.
So easy to terminate - no stripping the ends of the cable, and if you screw up the end or length, just take the end off, make the correction, pop it back on. You just saved $$$ by not throwing away a compressed fitting.

Holland Electronics has an identical cable and ends. They also make a dedicated stripper for this mini RG59 that is the best tool ever. Check them out.

Identical to the Belden or identical to the Plant Waves? I'll check out planet waves.. I tried it once at CEDIA and it was fine, but compression just never bothered me. If it has a better interconnect cable that's not .57/ft I'm all in.

These days the only thing i use compression "mini rg-59" for is audio interconnects in the rack. I'm getting really close to ditching them completely and using premade cables instead. The only reason im still using them now is because its what i have always done and i have a ton of rca/bnc connectors.

Mac have you tried the PW HD wire? Those ends go on like butter. Much better alternative to using premade (eek!)...might as well retire ;-)
