ce[b]ro is yet again afraid to post real journalism (see [Link: cepro.com]).

I’m sure many here participated in the survey. So, who are the vendors you voted for in the most frustrating category?

This should be interesting.....

You really expect a publication, that relies on ad revenue to pay the bills, to print negative things about potential partners?

You expect companies that have to deal with these manufacturers on a daily basis to publicly throw them under a bus?

Ill tell you that returns or repair from a LARGE PROMINENT Video manufacturer are PAINFULL. would not let a new TV be repaired at office - HAD to be in customers house. could not make a real appointment for repair - just a window with short notification. Was customers second home and not there often.

Put yourself in Julie's position. The life of the publications depend way more on the advertisers that she might have to ding than on us. She's done a good job cataloging the problems, but we can't expect her to bite the hands that feed her.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

Actually that could be any TV manufacture these days.

I rarely ever have problems with Sony TVs, but last year I did have 3 (I think?) that had issues in warranty. It was the biggest f^n nightmare to try and get service.
One of the TVs was a smaller entry level model, I just gave the f^ up and threw it away. Bought the customer another - even with the other profit on the job, i lost my arse on that one. Really pissed me off.
The other 2 both took over a month to get serviced. 100% unacceptable!

But have seen the same with Samsung (even worse) and LG.
Once that 30 day exchange policy is gone, GOOD LUCK!!!

I think I've found my next blog post topic. I'm going to start a poll on my website next week and publish the top 5 most frustrating vendors.

Thank GOD I get S--Y from a local distributor. I ordered a 75" for a customer and when opened and inspected before customer delivery (disty delivers to customer for me) there was a group of bad pixels.

Opened another one - same problem. Opened ANOTHER - AGAIN! - did this with 4 TV's! I cannot imagine the level of pissed i would have been if I was finding this out onsite. thankfully the disto shipped in another lot from another warehouse and they were OK.
this alone makes me hesitant to sell TV's anymore because the margin is not worth the ONE problem you are bound to get

Samsung has to be the most frustrating out of them all.

I’m going to ad that these vendors should be called out, in all their shitty glory. The ad revenue aside, there’s plenty of good products that warrant publication to off set the shit.

These manufacturers will and continue to pump out garbage that unless the bean counters see, will continue to get worse. Forums for the most part will never work. Publications can atleast shed some light on the fact things need to change. YET EVERYONE, CEDIA included is afraid to call out these manufacturers.

Not that Cedia is even relevant but I have always said to have that badge it should require a fantastic warranty program, return and failure rates very low and an avenue to help integrators with marketing and round tables to get feed back 1-2 times a year. It’s just painfully worthless though, not sure why any integrator/manufacturers even pay for it....

TV vendors apparently are like cable TV and Internet providers. When it works life is good. When it breaks, good luck.

Brad has had 3 Sony problems, which is 3 more than the number of Samsung problems I have had lol. But who is keeping score 😜
There is no truth anymore. Only assertions. The internet world has no interest in truth, only vindication for preconceived assumptions.
