I have a customer that presently has a D-Link NAS drive ( 9 years old) and wants to replace. The purpose is to back up his files on a daily basis? His budget is 1000.00 CDN or less. What is out there that you would recommend?

I'm also a long time user of Synology. No issues and the surveillance station app is pretty nice addition to the package (first two camera licenses are free). My only recommendation would be to take a good look at how it's going to be used and the processing power/RAM in the NAS to make that successful.

Hi,
I used Netgear for a number of years but then got wind of Synology.
I retired the Netgear and purchased new Synology units - very pleased.
Would you like some used Netgear NAS units - free to a good home with low expectations.

Synology and Qnap are virtually the same thing. Just depends on models and capacity.
