Hello all, I'll soon be installing a projector that has no horizontal lens shift. I know how to centre it, however it sure would be nice to have just a hair of adjustability incase it's off centre by small bit.

Most of the mounts I use are universal and as such the spider legs allow for some movement but they all recommend the centre of gravity be as close to centre as possible.

Do you guys still use this to move off centre a little or do you have a preffered mount that accommodates this as a feature?

Thanks.

Craig.

I used a couple of the Snap mounts- the plate can be oriented to shift forward/back or side to side and it has a set screw to prevent rotating after installation.

How heavy is the projector?

It's an Optima UHD65. Customer provided. It weighs 16 lbs.

I'm in Ontario and Snap products for me come from the west coast so to avoid shipping I usually deal with AVAD or ADI as I can pick up in person so I would preffer to use a brand available through them.

That said if the right product is available elsewhere then that's where I'll get it. What's the model number of the Snap mount?

Thanks for your input.

Craig.

This is the black one- it also comes in (off)white (use WH at the end of the part number instead of BLK).

There is also Chief (Milestone) and they have horizontal adjustment plates to attach to a lot of their projector mounts.

I saw those when I was searching around today. Good add on for sure.

Just be aware that being off balance can induce/exacerbate seismic or HVAC-induce shake.

If the projector is hidden, it's not a bad idea to add some weight to the 'lighter' side of the assembly, as a counterweight.

Those are great suggestions. Thank you. I'll be able to get it very close. Maybe perfect. I would just like to have a hair of adjustability from one side to the other in case the image is a half an inch off or something like that.

Most of the universal mounts would offer that with the spider legs. I was just hoping to find a mount that could do it with out having to loosen the mounting bolts.

Thanks again everyone.
