Actually, the audio is easy. Of the few drive ins still around that I’ve seen, they now broadcast the audio on the radio. The viewers use the car’s radio to listen. Real easy.

But still, I don’t see a drive in making enough return to be worth it. You can’t start any show before dark. So during the summer, you won’t be able to start a movie until about 9:30. During the winter you might get an early show and get two shows. But either way, a drive in is probably only a 2 or 3 night a week business. I don’t care where you are, I doubt it’s going to get a Wednesday night crowd. So 4 to 5 days a week, the place is doing nothing. So for those couple nights a week you can be open, how many cars can you fit in the lot?

The whole world is moving towards streaming. Can't see a drive in growing over time.

How about a video rental store? 😜
There is no truth anymore. Only assertions. The internet world has no interest in truth, only vindication for preconceived assumptions.

True, but there may be a niche market for teens and nostalgia freaks. (Grandma showing the kids what she did as a kid)

The experience could be updated with an App allowing snacks to be ordered in advance or delivered to the car. This could allow offering snacks that require some prep time and would be awkward to manage at an on demand counter. (such as custom pizza)

On a side note: How would one deal with SUV's and vans? These would be similar to the lady in the theater wearing a big hat. In the old days it was just sedans and an occasional pick-up truck (when they were sedan sized).

And then grandma is banned by a court order from ever seeing the grandkids again. 😂

The other two comments are valid. Before I saw them I wrote:
I don't think so. I can't see grandma letting the kids get her in the back seat.

They go in the back. The rows of viewing places are graded so as to point the vehicle at the screen.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.
