So, I just lost my left can on my El Cheapo headphones I've been wearing for 2 years.

I'd love to have a pair of Grado's.  I really like the look. I've never heard them. Obviously they make a nice headphone, but the SR80e is their cheapos.  Anybody own them, sell them, or have a review on them?

I used to have the SR60s and they sounded awesome, but they are fully open. No isolation, so anyone near can also hear what you are listening to.

Joe Grado came to the little hole in the wall that was Rogersound Labs for its first year and a half. He had cartridges to show us. Nice guy, interesting and engaging.

For those who have a British or European accent idea of class, the first part of his name is pronounced grade. It's grade-oh. He did not have the pomposity of pronouncing it grahd-oh.

Based on some of the headphones I heard years ago, and the sense of fidelity and quality he must have imbued in his nephew,* I'd bet on any model of Grado headphones.

*nephew, right? Did I remember correctly?
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

I have a pair of the SR-80i cans. I upgraded the headband and the foam pads. Very nice and pretty easy to drive, if not the most comfortable. Recommended.

I got the upgrade itch and love my HiFiMAN HE-400i. Beautiful sound but really need a decent headphone amp to fully sing.
