Don't help your clients steal TV. Did you try this work around? [Link: forums.xfinity.com]

I did! Tried it from the remote and it worked but when I tried to learn it it did the normal. Must be an RF only code

There is a slight possibility that there is an IR command. You could use a camera to observe the X1's remote associated with the code.
Another (unlikely) avenue to pursue would be to unpair the remote -- forcing it to revert to IR. Now try the work around and see of there is an IR code and appropriate response from the box.

I don't have an X1 box to play with. As you are pressing the buttons on the remote, is there a response from the box for each of the button presses? Is there a timing consideration? (if you press the buttons too fast or too slow, does the 30 second skip degrade into a sequence of commands -- possibly going to channel 30 or 500?)
