"Nuance" used to mean "a subtle difference." Since you're spraying perfume on crap by using the term "nuances" for problems that can drive you to bang your head on the wall, let me suggest a new term: puances. Or pooances, if you like. Every modern control system has had them and it always seems like the manufacturers could have avoided them.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

Let’s substitute quirks in place of nuances in my previous posts.

Subtle differences is appropriate. I’m not talking about glitches, I’m talking about how each control system has their own methods of doing things. They may not always be logical to us, but if you learn their quirky methods and work with them, things are usually fine.

I haven't had a RTI remote fail yet. Two had firmware update issues and were sent back and repaired without charge, but that was still during the installation.

Might be something else going on.

Wouldn't even consider elan anymore.

URC is probably the best bet.

Count yourself rare and lucky!! After a few years of letting the burn of the T2C/3C heal I tried a couple T2i's and it was lock up after lock up.

I do like the look and feel of their remotes and the software. Hopefully they will figure the iDevice formula and it was ridiculous before the new owner made some changes. I don't feel comfortable giving them another go at this current time.
