But? Apple is the best! The airport is the best router on the face of the earth.

Only after being securely "planted" from an altitude of at least 2000 feet.

Wow. It's been decades since I wanted to return a product by dropping it from a helicopter. At that time it was a Telrad phone system. Did anyone here have the lack of pleasure of working with that system?
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

Apple is why you guys aren't viewing this site with a 2" sidekick screen and lugging 200 disc changers into your clients homes. You're welcome.

Yes, those are incredible improvements in the way things are. (That is, the state of the art, and by the way, "the state of the art" means "the way we normally do it," not "the best we can do.")

Improvements like this would have occurred anyway. It was not necessary for Apple to exist for them to happen, and Apple alone did not do all the improvements. You have to at least give credit to the companies that did not bring this about, leaving the opening for Apple. Improvements always depend upon the unimproved item to help define the need for improvements.

This is correct. I remember those days. It's back when you could make money in this shitheap industry, have more free time, and not have call/texts at night about what bit rate is best and why pics aren't showing up on my TV, and,and,and....
how in the hell does ernie make money?

Today, I unexpectedly come upon one of our vans on the highway and I literally laughed out loud. Worth every penny. I crack myself up.

Poll your CD changer clients vs your iPod dock clients and see who had the better experience. Every time i visit a project that had/has CD changers i find the few CDs i loaded for them in it and maybe a few holiday CD's. They have no idea which CD is where so they just put it on random whenever there is a party. Clients calling you means they use it...and will call you for more when its time to upgrade.

"Tablets" and "Smart phones" were around for a long time before Apple finally fixed it for us. Apple alone did do all the improvements. All the MP3 players on the market were a joke...Sony...the father of the freaking WALKMAN has some goofy nightmare check-in check-out system that only let you use your digital file on 1 device at a time.

You have to at least give credit to the companies that did not bring this about, leaving the opening for Apple.

Your logic would have us thanking New England for the Eagles win.

We've come a long way since I started in this biz in the early 90's!

I'm not sure if I'm pulling out more cd changers or ipod docks at this point but it's been a good ride!

200 disc changers didn’t have firmware updates.

You left out "that made everything stop working!"

You mean you didn't use a DVD changer for their CD's?

I'm sure you know why that was a better solution for CD's.

Using the old 300, and 400, disc DVD changers gave my clients a great way to organize the multitude of CD's they had.
