As I understand it the infringements had nothing to do with hardware, just code, which can be re-written.

This comes at a time when I just picked up Heos and have several quotes in process with Heos. I’m frustrated, to say the least, but hopeful that it will all be worked out. I’d feel better if we could get some sort of official statement from D&M

I happily installed a SONOS system today. A Playbar with a connect amp for rears, a Playbase in another room, a connect running 7 rooms, and a boost. So easy. Not a hitch. Customer loves it. No headaches. Money in the bank. Winning!

We have done the same recently but I will tell you, those kind of gigs are not enough. We try to take a two prong approach that is very much dictated by the customer's lifestyle and budget. In some cases, Sonos fits the bill but in most of our whole home projects, it's HEOS Drive or RTI.

I just can't see Denon closing up shop on the HEOS line. They have so much invested already, a good product line, unique (mostly) products and features and a growing customer base. Considering the potential backlash if they did close up, and the damage or would do to the name, customers being fickle as we are, it would be very much in their interest to keep the line alive through whatever means necessary.

I suspect this will be resolved in a way that we can all live with. I'm not ready to jump ship yet. But any new potential clients will be advised of what's going on and offered the opportunity to wait until the dust settles. People like honesty and if it does go sideways I won't be responsible for hiding it from my clients.
