So far only Lutron integration with Alexa. Setup is super easy. Installation is even easier and voila you have magical voice commands.

Requires absolutely zero massaging to get up and running too.

Do you set expectations - "This is pretty cool, but sometimes you have to repeat... it is still developing...etc..."
There is no truth anymore. Only assertions. The internet world has no interest in truth, only vindication for preconceived assumptions.

Absolutely, not even close to five9s- I rate it at one9 or 90% reliability, which is generous.

We are putting it pretty much on every job. Most are not asking for it but when we talk about it, or even better show them, it becomes a must have.

There are some that STILL say its a fad and voice is going away. Its here to stay. Going NO WHERE.

As for charging, we do the same as others, its rolled into programming costs/fees. After the fact its a per hour.

Coupled with Total Control, I imagine it like other systems, theres nothing Alexa cant do that the control system can do.

I rarely touch buttons anymore lol. The downside, its cutting a bit into UI's. Im seeing less in wall touchpads now since voice control has come out.

I HATE voice control. And I know many many people that agree with me. But some love gimmicks and I'm sure it's going to stay. But it certainly is not for everyone.

Yes, and we say "No":)

We will implement, especially for Sonos. Using a Sonos One makes it a lot easier. There is a specific list of commands that work, sometimes. We let them know that is just a secondary control method that we do not guarantee will work, and all support is on a T&M bases.

How is voice a gimmick?? its CONVENIENCE. To the nth degree. An added layer of control. No one in their right mind would ever have it as the only way to control of course.

Curved screens: gimmick

BLM: gimmick

voice: bonus

To each their own of course. Its there for those that want it, Those that dont, wont/dont use it.

You are correct. I should not have used the word gimmick.
For many people that are 'trying' it, the word gimmick fits. But with what I have read from all the forum boards, you are putting together a very robust and extended voice control setup. So that is no longer a gimmick.

But I personally still hate voice control. Anything that I have to be careful of what I say, learn to talk a different way, or deal with listening to others tell me that; I will pass. I unplugged the echo and google home devices I was testing months ago. And no one in my house has missed it.
For a family, dealing with voice control can be really frustrating. For someone living by themselves or with just one other person in the house, it can be OK.

Question for you Alexa integrators: How do you do Sonos with multiple zones? I have the skill set up, but have found no right way to get Alexa to play the Pandora station in a certain room, for instance.

In that situation, I am with Brad. There seems to be a world of difference between telling Comcast to Go To ESPN vs. making Sonos work in the master bedroom on your favorite station.

I don't mean this to sound as ominous as it does, but here are two things that share a category.

Right after 9/11, one of the cries we heard was "this isn't going to make us live differently." Well, it did. We have to be careful what we say. Especially at the airport, we have learned to talk a different way (For instance, "Bruno Mars! He's da BOMB!")

Isn't it strange that people are lining up to take electronic systems into their homes, over which they ultimately have no control, that monitor every word being said?

Me, I'd like to get on an airplane without having to go through the ritual of wiping the floor with my stocking feet while everybody else wipes the floor with theirs, as well. I'd like to be able to say what I want to say inside my home, too.

I got a DOT for Christmas. I'm now finally going to go about setting it up. And ooh... it has blue LEDs! I'm IN ! ! !
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

In Ernie’s house, I’d give it 5nines reliability. #englishmajorproblems

If you go to your Alexa app, under Smart Home you’ll see the Sonos zone names as interpreted by Alexa. Ask “play such and such radio in said room”.
