I didn't see any comparisons to Sonos is the article. Does Bluesound app handle Spotify or Apple Music within the app or do you have to go through the confusion of controlling music with Spotify app then Bluesound app to group rooms and control volume? How many of you guys are installing Bluesound?

I installed a Bluesound device into a system, client had it working from his spotify app before I could even tell him it was connected.
This was only 1 device, I would imagine that within Spotify you will see each box (zone) and be able to select which room you want to listen in and control.
I am sure someone here will be able to confirm this.

By itself it works ok but I’d prefer Sonos if a standalone solution is what you are after. These “Sonos killers” never really match up. I include HEOS in that statement. Are you integrating with a control system?

The Bluesound kit has my favourite DLNA playback capabilities - it certainly sounds better than Sonos too. Its recent lutron compatibility is pretty cool and an indication that it will turn up in the CI space a little more. However, Sonos has more services / integration with streaming companies. But not many people use more than one service to begin with...
This industry is not getting cheaper and cheaper, we're simply convincing ourselves that we have to push the cheapest option to customers.

you should not encourage folks to rely on the sonos app for Spotify.

Connect works fine. its definitely not hard to figure out.

BlueOS does not currently support apple Music.

Why’s that? I thought that was safe but not third party, C4, TC, etc?

o.O

Sonos IS third party with Spotify...C4, TC and other automation systems would technicality be 4th.

Spotify
End User
Sonos
C4/TC/Etc Etc..

Spotify wants their ad revenue. They get none from Sonos.

^ following the thread of logic here...when the Sonos Spotify agreement from 2011(?) ends, Sonos users will then be forced to use Spotify Connect, as opposed to the direct integration they enjoy now.
