I needed to upgrade the old graphics card in my PC. I ordered a GTX-1060 for $219.99 + $17.17 shipping straight from EVGA on 12/08/2017. It took until 12/11/2017 before they charged my card and another 2 days before they shipped it. Slow but whatever.

So I finally got the card the week before Christmas. It had clearly been opened, had a bent tab on the frame, and upon installation - DOA. Tested it with my meter to a problem on the board and requested an RMA within 4 hours of receiving the product from the shipper.
Took them a few days again to approve and give me an RMA. Said they would be shipping a new card out to me soon (after giving them my credit card info again).

By 1/15/2018 I was frustrated. It had been over a month since I ordered a card from them and I still did not have a working card. I went out and purchased another brand GTX1060, installed it, and everything working fine.
2 days later on 1/17/2018 I finally got an EVGA replacement card. Understand I did not get tracking numbers from them for any shipments they send to me.
Not needing the card now, I sent the box right back to them for a refund on the same day. Requested another RMA for a refund, although I already dropped it off at UPS (because I already knew it was going to take days just to get an approval). They received the card back on 1/24/2018. About the time they finally approved an RMA for refund.

2/15/2018! More than 2 months after they took my money, they finally gave me a refund. But only $186.99. They took $50.17. Reason: no refund on the shipping and 15% restock fee on card. F^n WOW!!!

It gets better.... After complaining and threatening to file a dispute with my bank, I get a response.
1) They say the card I sent back passed all tests. LMFAO!!! I tested that card for an hour, taking readings on the board, re-seated it 2x. And putting other graphic cards in the same slot that worked perfect. 100% lie, no way that card magically came back to life. My reply to this was: they need to give Harry Potter a raise.
2) They said they were being very generous to me for giving a refund at all. Since it was well beyond their 30 day return policy. Un f^n believable!!!

Understand that if you go online and search, EVGA generally gets good praise for its customer service. WTF! Either they have a hellava marketing team online posting fake reviews or I really pissed off a gypsy in my past.

Dispute it. With you're card company. Gets to be about principle now.

You know what's funny. I posted over on a computer forum as well, because I want people to see and know about this.

Both replies I had received so far were users saying: it is common to be charged a restocking fee and of course they are not going to refund you shipping.
WTF??? This isn't a standard return. This wasn't a consumer deciding they just didn't want the product anymore. They (meaning EVGA) failed to deliver a working product from day1. And after a month (already beyond the 30 days), I think it is MORE than reasonable to give up on them and ask for a "full" refund.

This again just shows me how disconnected I seem to be from the rest of the world these days. Why would I consider it acceptable for a company to take $50 of my money for empty hands on something that was their screw up!

I just keep thinking if I sold a customer a new TV. Took $2,000 from them and delivered a DOA TV. Then after a month, I still didn't have a working TV for them and they wanted a refund. Took a 15% restocking fee + shipping and gave them $1,600 back and kept $400 for restock & shipping fees. And left them with nothing to show for it.
I'm pretty sure a sheriff would be knocking on my door at some point to serve me. It's such dirty!!!

I only buy tech stuff like that from Amazon. If it's defective...I return it no questions asked. If it's the wrong color or if it makes me feel weird or if it's Wednesday instead of Tuesday I return it no questions asked.

I bought a few shirts from a UK clothing dealer in 2004 or 2005 who charged my card immediately but never shipped. Never responded to contact attempts. I got the charges reversed. Lesson learned. I only shop at the big retailers now.

I fixed the dates for the correct year :)

Mac,
If you return something on Amazon that wasn't defective, wrong item, etc. there are some stipulations now. But you are correct, within 30 days it is super easy to get resolution with Amazon.

The saga with that card will continue. I bet my left nut it went back into A Stock, after being “tested” and some other soon to be pissed off customer will be having the same experience.

Wow, I've been buying online forever and never have heard of the place but thanks for the heads up. I'm a Amazon, EBAY, Newegg guy and never have had any unresolved issues.

EVGA is a card maker, he ordered direct from them. They use chips from NVIDIA and build the cards. Generally a very good company.

I learned along time ago when I built computers to use Newegg or reputable online stores instead of going to the manufacture direct. Most companies are overseas support and suck ass when it comes to replacing and or fixing things. Such is the way of life in the electronics industry.

How did you get an A stock 1060 for $200ish?

EVGA has been nearly sold out of all cards for a while and even the B stocks were in the $1K range.

You positive you bought an A stock and not a B stock?

Well... it was suppose to be an A-stock lol
The reason I ordered it factory direct, is that very same reason mentioned = not a lot of people had any name brand in stock anywhere.
It was the entry level GTX-1060. The base model with only 3G of VRAM. Plenty for what I need. A lot of the upper model 1060 cards were out of stock.

The card I went a bought was an ASUS GTX-1060. It was actually $20 cheaper than the EVGA at $199.99 and free shipping (amazon got a few in stock). It has been great so far.

If I am buying from other than Amazon I always use my AmEx card. If there is a problem I file a dispute and let AmEx handle it. I have never (over 15 years) been disappointed.

I'd tipple check to see if you actually ordered an A-Stock.

I haven't had too many issues with EVGA, when I buy from their store or off of Amazon, but thanks to crypto everyone is out of stock on NVIDIA cards lately so I was amazed you found an A-Stock.

XFX used to have really good support where cards had a double life time warranty. So if you sold the card to someone else THEY even got the support. I had XFX upgrade my cards twice after they failed from age.

It was 100% A-stock.
Part# 03G-P4-6160-KR , S/N# 1710836160816125
So if anyone gets 'that' serial number and it was suppose to be new, you know you got screwed.

I just went to their website to see if they still had any. The price has jumped to $269.99 and shows out of stock. Nice!

I just checked, the ASUS card I ordered was NOT from amazon.com. Sorry, it was B&H. They show it as gone now too.
