Client's wife's iPhone will not log into the main network SSID. Network is a UBNT Edgemax POE with 3 Unifi UAPs. The network has two WLans. One is setup just for some devices in the basement to ensure they connect with strong signal. The other is to provide wifi to the rest of the house. The one iPhone will not connect to the house wide said, only the basement.

They've rebooted the phone, turned wifi 9ff and on, turned airplane mode off and on. I've booted the iphone from the basement wifi in unifi software, I ensured firmware was up to date. Not sure what else to try other then a full restore of the phone. Any suggestions?

Log into basement SSID, then Forget This Network.
There is no truth anymore. Only assertions. The internet world has no interest in truth, only vindication for preconceived assumptions.

Sorry, should have mentioned. We did that with both SSIDs

Change the password on the basement network- why are you using WiFi for that, rather than wired? If you already have a cable down there.....

Are you sure the phone was rebooted? I had a similar problem yesterday with my phone. I had entered the network password incorrectly and couldn’t get my phone to let it go and enter the correct password. I did a reboot by holding both the menu and power button until it shut down.

Another thought, is there a chance that the phone has been connected to another network with the same SSID as the main network?

I'm not aware of ethernet ports on cell phones, wifi remotes, and other wifi only devices.

OK, you wrote "some devices", not 'handheld devices', WiFi remotes, etc, you didn't include anything about the 'devices', other than the fact that they're downstairs and now that we know these are what they are, did you use a different SSID? That by itself, causes a shitload of problems with Apple handhelds, which I and others have harped about in a lot of threads.

As someone told me, "Apple handhelds leave claw marks when they let go of a network"- I call it 'separation anxiety'. If your SSIDs were the same, it will still take some time to connect to the closer of them, but it might still work better than it is, now.

I had posted about a client's iMac that constantly reconnected to the AirPort Extreme in their basement, even though an Express was 20 feet away, on the same floor. As a test, I added a 1 at the end of the closer one, 'forgot' the SSID that it was conncting to and it kept connecting. I finally stuck a fork in the Apple crap and installed Luxul. I have an XWC (?) 1750 router in the basement, an XAP-300 in another basement room, an XAP on the 3rd floor and everything has been working much better- I haven't had a trouble call since I booted the old crap. I'm using one SSID, the same password and soon, I will make sure they're all on channels 1, 6 or 11, to eliminate overlap. EVERY speed test I have done has come up close to the max of what they're paying for, I have had no problems with Netflix buffering- everything is working much better.

The most recent iOS updates eliminated a lot of problems in my phone, but also have caused some new ones. They always have bug fixes, so you might want to look at their iOS to see how out of date it is on the affected devices.

Try WPA2. What about security- TKIP/AES? ONLY use AES and check to see if everything is set the same. It happens.

Seems to be an issue with the Cisco switch. A reboot of the switch fixed the issue. Weird. Have no idea how or why a switch issue would cause this.

What this guy said! Make sure TKIP is off.

I recently fixed a similar issue by resetting network settings in the phone.

I had to do the same with a Netgear switch (in the house where WiFi goes to die). I have asked about that every time I talk to someone in tech support and they all say the same thing- "Never heard of that before".
