we should get a group of five and try it out. share the costs of the discount.

Not a dumb idea as far as design, IF it works. Could be brilliant. Not sure bright enough. Looks handy (no pun intended!)

Plenty of situations where a typical flashlight or even a headlamp aren't enough...especially now that my eyes are in their 40's. I'm not a glove person but I might get a pair to test drive them.

My thought was in racks or behind equipment. And amen to the 40 something eyes. I used to could shoot clothes pins off a wire at 50 yds and read a book in moon light.

Fins,
both of those things sound like a simple pair of glasses could help you out. That makes sense as far as the shooting example goes.

What's counterintuitive is that not being able to read in dim light might be solved by glasses. See, if your focus is perfect, you don't need much light. If your focus is not perfect, more light will constrict your pupils, limiting the percentage of your eye lenses through which the light passes, which sharpens the image. A pair of glasses can fix that.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

I'll pass on this. It might work if I had three hands. Their photos are misleading. The LED's provide a fairly narrow beam that will point in the wrong direction when you close your grip on something.

If you say so.

I guess I will toss the one my wife got me for xmas.

I thought it was working pretty well but I must be wrong.

I'm confused. At about 1:05 in the video it's represented as the "tradesman's go-to tool" ...... then sticks it in a tackle box.

Is it a tool or a fishing lure? Or both!?!?

Kidding - actually looks pretty cool.

If they'd pay their bills, they wouldn't have to work in the dark, or bundle up in Winter clothes to sew. Hanging a picture in the dark? Needing a flashlight to turn on the main breaker? Who doesn't have a smart phone with a flashlight that lights up a room?

Only in your 40s? I didn't need reading glasses until I took a networking class just before I turned 50 and I only need them now if the print is extremely small- that was 11 years ago.

Maybe these would help-

I didn't need glasses until I decided while in high school to read Gone With The Wind one weekend. Yes, one weekend.

It looks like cheap junk to me. The 2 LEDs that it uses are clearly cheap LEDs you can get for $0.02 in a catalog. They are very blue looking (strike 1), they have a very narrow cast (strike 2), and they are not very bright (strike 3), and $40? for a cheap $3 product (strike 4).
And it IS a $3 product. Like already mentioned, it is the exact same thing you can find on ebay, rebranded a dozen times over.
I'll pass.
