I’ve only used in wall subs before but the design calls for in ceiling. I’m using 6” Episode 1500 Signature speakers so looking for same size & thin bezel?

Anything good out there? Or are you going to make me call a distributor? 😂

James or Triad.

Personally I think James has an edge on triad when it comes to subs. Either will work fine though. It’s like comparing BMW/Audi James = BMW Triad = Audi

I've had NOTHING but issues with in-ceiling subwoofers. Recessed cans being the largest culprit of rattling after the fact. Bleh. If there's anyway around it I would suggest it.

We utilize Triad a lot but I'm not sure I would really recommend it.

I watched a review of Beale Street Audio 6" and 8" subs. They come with an enclosure and use a transmission line design, ported out the front though several slot ports.

Havn't used them my self but the reviewer said they had very little vibration which he attributed to the energy being redirected out the ports.

I have tried their 6" and 8" in ceiling speakers and was very impressed so I'm hoping to try the subs soon. They're a Vanco product so which ever disty you deal
with that has Vanco should have them. Mine lent me a couple pair of speakers to try. Perhaps yours could too.

James or Sonance, imo.

I installed one from OEM Systems about 6-7 years ago. I don't remember it being exceptional, but it wasn't awful, either. Customer was on a very low budget, so OEM Systems might have better, more expensive options available.

JBL has an enclosed in-ceiling 8" subwoofer. They are sold in pairs and can be had in 8 Ohm as well as 70v versions. I've used them before in board rooms with good performance.

JBL also make a 12" version that needs an enclosure that's a separate part #.

How about a Flex sub?

Thanks guys, I think I’m going to try the Beale Street Audio in ceiling woofers. It’s a 7ch System so I’m interested in seeing what three rows of 3 speakers looks like haha. I will be wiring for in wall and floor sub just in case.

Flex ported subs seem to work better than inwall subs...assuming you have the space for the sub. We put two triad flex ported subs in a steel steam boat that was being converted to electric. I mounted the subs directly to the steel using custom aluminum brackets and ported them out behind two decorative "life savers". They sounded great.

When I mentioned James and Sonance, I meant their flex ported subs. I've been very impressed with both depending on the performance requirements of the project.

If you do get the opportunity to try to please report back with your opinion.
