Ditto on the "open channel situation" outlined above. We've had this happen on systems where we have multiple remotes, multiple MRFs and multiple users. As a result, we've gone to always using standard and "i" remotes when we have multiple remotes in a house.

When we have multiple remotes that are both the same frequency AND there are many users, we change our phone number and physical address so we can't be contacted again. All kidding aside, I mention the multiple users as if it is a couple that is typically watching the same content in the same room, you won't have the issue as they are never pushing the same buttons in different rooms at the same time. However, if you have a job where there are kids in one room changing channels on a cable box and people in another room changing channels on a cable box, you could run into the problem.

We ran into this about 8 years ago and I was hoping that the issue had gone away. Are these new remotes/RF brains (as new as an MX350 can be)?

We stayed over one night at a well-to-do client's ranch and we were put up in the Hotel building. Really.

There were four rooms, each with a kingsize bed with RF controls for motion on each side, so, 8 control zones.

The remotes allowed you to choose any one of the six code sets built into them.

The next morning, talking about this, they related that recently a minister and his wife had stayed over. In the middle of the night the minister was awakened when the head of his bed rose up. He put it back down again, and it came back up. He decided it was a snafu and went to sleep that way. We all laughed about it...

I changed the codes so the overlapping codes were at the opposite ends of the building, about 60 feet away from one another. Thank goodness that worked!

If the 2 cable boxes are on 2 different MRF-350 but on the same port #, switch such that the 2 boxes are on different port numbers. The problem will go away.

Not always, in my experience. Have been told in the past by URC that when that gate opens it’s a free for all on all ports.

Hmmm.

So when a gate opens, it's free for all on all ports. If that's true, then when there's just one MRF-350 and the remote opens the gates, it's a free for all on all ports. That means that port assignments are meaningless.

But since that's not true, I wonder what the exact truth is.
