I have a customer wanting to upgrade their Sim2 D80. They were considering a 4K epson, but when doing some research we came across the BenQ laser projector. One reason for replacing the Sim is its reliability with control and HDMI. Does anyone have experience with BenQ on these issues?

Only ever installed one BenQ. It's in a ice hockey arena, been there 4 years, always works. No HDMI issues or control.

We've had good luck with the line. Pay attention to throw distance/screen size, as their lenses have a more compressed range than others.

Had one in my showroom for years. Worked fine, but when it did go bad, they couldn't repair it:(

What’s the budget? $5k gets the Sony VPL-HW285. It is a hell of projector for the money.

I've used the BenQ commercial projectors for about three years now with good luck, but I haven't had to connect them to a control system beyond a Pixie. No issues with HDMI connections or lamps and never had to call tech support (yet).
