How do you have as many kids as you do and not know who Roman Atwood is? He’s a YouTube vlogger that’s making millions. His vlog is called smile more. To his credit, it’s g rated. My kids watch it every day and talk about him and his family like they are next door neighbors.
But I still can’t believe someone can make money on YouTube.

Why did I click this... Now his channel is going to appear in my YT recommendation list for the next few days.
Oh well, better than that other guy who is NYC based and from New London, CT. The one who "had" to retire from YT because of this and that. But still made millions.

You have to get people to watch your videos. But if you can... 200K-500K views per video, Google pays out crazy cash. Have a channel that gets 2M-5M views per video, you are a YouTube celebrity and get paid bank!!!
There are people doing sail boats and the money they make from YouTube pays for the boat and all their expenses to sail around the world.
There are people doing cars. One guy buys $50k-$100K cars constantly with the money from YouTube to have content for his next set of videos.
And a thousand other topics done hundreds of times over.
This is the world we live in now. Narcissism at its best. 90%+ of these videos are people just doing stuff. Not really educational, or even a good story. And people waste countless hours of their time watching it! Why! Why!

There is a lady who unboxes barbies.
Bottom line is that the internet lets anyone be entertainment. Middle man is gone so if you can get enough people watching you can earn a living doing it.
Over a million views...posted last November.

I don't know why one of you charismatic souls aren't reviewing home automation gear and making a pile of money...Just sayin'.

Mostly because the only way to get 4 million people to watch a video about our industry would be to show a tech falling from the attic through a ceiling onto a clients bed while his wife is screwing the pool guy.

The real successful YouTube stars seem to be ones that appeal to kids and young teens. Home automation isn’t going to interest that demographic. Plus, what Mac said.
The more I thought about it, I realized this was the natural evolution of entertainment. We went from expensive produced entertainment to polished reality tv. Then reality tv moved to cheap semi scripted reality tv making untalented idiots rich. So t only makes sense that we end up at a point where any idiot with a camera can put their life out there so the entire world can see and end up with a matching pair of Ferrari’s.
