I have 11 clients that have emailed/called me over the last few weeks about Roku throwing an HDCP error on Netflix. There is absolutely no consistences between these jobs. Some have AVR's (Marantz/SonyES) Some have Sony /Samdung/LG/Epson TV's, Some have JAP some have HDbaseT. Some jobs are Ethereal kosher and some have random cables (vanco-customer supplied etc)

Its almost like an update happened and this started. I have had stable jobs for 2 years now that are throwing these. The only fix is to uplug them and the TVs and retry it. This works but only temporarily. Roku 3's and Roku 4 Premiums here.

Any thoughts?

I had the same thing on a new 4k apple tv - only on Netflix. Soft menu reboot solved it. This must be something screwed up with Netflix and streaming device. Never had this until I got a Sunday night text with the issue.

We're having continuing issues with a roku permiere+, yamaha rcvr, Smasung TV. Problem was on YouTube though.

Replaced the Roku with a simple (non 4K) unit. The HDCP issue is gone, but now the streams/buffering are an issue (no hardwire network just WiFi)

I'm going to try an Atlona EDID fixer gizmo (sorry can't remember the model number right now) It's supposed to be delivered today so we'll see.
I'm Not an engineer, but I play one on TV.
My handle is Tweety but I have nothing to do with the organization of similar name. I just had a really big head as a child so folks called me tweety bird.

I know at one point there were some issues with Roku products not playing nicely with clock stretching, which is a requirement for a lot of long haul/extender products. Any of your clients using those?

Either way, you'd be dealing with shit all day.

After Sept 1 in Texas you CAN because lawmakers decided to dissolve the plumbing oversight body - after 9/1 all plumbing licenses are invalid and one is not needed to to plumbing (even gas).. MAGA!.....
I AM responsible for typographical errors!
I have all the money I will ever need - unless i buy something..
