I just updated my Sonos app and I must say it's less worse now.

Hopefully our clients find it more intuitive to navigate.

typical sonos update, give it a day or so for everything to catch up on app stores etc.

Many of the changes that are in this update should make the app allot more usable... finger crossed that it does.

Does it have a navigation ribbon that is static, rather than having to hunt for it?

Static.

Static.

That alone makes it a huge improvement.

my PC app updated correctly right away. My iphone kept saying it needed to update, linked to the app store, then said "open" rather than update...

Removal and reinstall of the app took care of it.

Seems like they fixed what we've been bitching about since the last "update" broke everything.

I would say it is much less worse now. The overall design will be very familiar to Apple Music users

The problem with the iTunes App Store is that when the app prompts you to update, you then go to the app store and it just says open. This is a known problem with the Apple App Update service. You then have to select update, then update all, and swipe it down. Then Sonos will show up in the update.

As for the update itself it is way better:

When you had rooms grouped, on the main rooms page, you can now see the name of each zone and what group it is in. previously, it would show the room everything was grouped to and a +2 or +3, etc. This is now fixed. People would complain that they were losing zones, because they couldn't remember where the grouped it too.

The tab bar at the bottom is now static. This improves overall navigation. Its all about clicks to action. The clicks to action need to be minimized to improve the customers experience. Sonos actually preached this when they added favorites back in the day.

Now I can stop getting calls from my clients when they are stuck on the now playing screen.

The new update is a huge improvement....thanks for listening Sonos :)

Tried to add a play1 to existing system today. Halfway thru it wouldn't let me go further because I needed to update app, but update not available.

Called Sonos tech support(hold for 30 mins) and she blames it on the android store. Says that Sonos released the app and android store is sitting on it. Sure they are. Tells me I need to get an ios device to finish setup.

What a piece of shit.
I came into this game for the action, the excitement. Go anywhere, travel light, get in, get out, wherever there's AV trouble, a man alone.

Ok, so throughout the day, I kept going into the Sonos app to look for an update but it didn't show there was one. Within the app I went to online updates and it said there was an update released but it was not available on my app store. Just now I want to the Play Store and searched for Sonos and there it showed the update tab. That updated the app which then prompted for a system wide update.

Now that I can see the app, it's better. The only thing that is now apparent is that the navigation bar with the room info right above it takes up too much space. It's something I am guessing I could get used to. It's definitely gonna be less confusing for clients.
