Can you go direct with ICE?  I'm a small low volume dealer and have been direct with them for years.

you might check out ECD in Houston. Electronic Custom Distributors.
Always get the best pricing on great quality wire. Ask for Steve, tell him I sent you.

Been using these too with the wire and it's worth it.

I tried to go direct with ICE a few years ago but they directed me to a local distributor.
Used it a bit but I switched to SCP for a couple reasons and SCP wire is great. Slightly less than ICE but very good quality wire. Been using for about 3-4 years now.

That said, im switching my bulk wire over to ethereal / metra.

I started with ICE from a regional distributor for a while but then went direct probably four years ago. I just meet my minimums for freight and the original switchover was pretty simple. I'd be curious if you actually told them (ICE) you wanted to switch wire and what they would say about going direct.

I recently saved some time by buying a box of RG6 from ADI. It didn't save time. I've spent more than the time it would have taken to go to the next closest vendor just pulling on the wire to make it look more or less like a straight piece of wire! One wire meandering along a wall looks like a really cheesy installation.

So, not ADI.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

We use Binary/Snap. No real complaints about the quality of the wire itself. For a while the boxes had printed on them “Our wire doesn’t tangle!” or something to that effect. Their boxes don’t say that anymore 🙄

No issues with the wire we use from ADI. What are you using? We use Honeywell for all bulk wire and have absolutely no complaints. Are you pulling wire when it is 10 degrees?

Who you asking about the temperature? If it's me, it often gets down into the 60s around here, very rarely to freezing. The RG6 just looks like it's been hand-wound around... around something damn irregular.

In the fall I bought either 4 or 6 boxes of snaps cat5 because I couldnt get the SCP wire fast enough and I got overnight from snap for something I had to do asap. I ordered enough for that immediate small project plus more for the next thing I had to do.

I used a little for that small project and threw either 2 or 4 boxes in the dumpster on site before I left. I still have 2 boxes brand new somewhere here unopened that will be tossed in the garbage soon.

Using that stuff after using SCP was a mistake i'll never do again.
Sorry snap. Just my opinion.

No I didnt bother because they pushed me to a distributor even though I asked to go direct originally. I got the vibe that wasnt going to happen, which is their loss. I went to SCP and like I said I actually like their wire better and its less $.

Should have bought the Genesis cable. Their cheap line is CCS, not solid Copper.
