We wired a spec house back just before the recession. The builder lost the home so speakers werenít ever installed. the buyers finally want to finish the audio system.

Website still shows that they're part of D&M Holdings, which is now owned by Sound United although this may have changed- the distributor who used to sell BA now sells Denon and not BA.

Boston Acoustics I think is coming to an end.
For 10 years now they have been dropping sku's, including all the great models that made them great.
For the last 5 years, they have fire sales on their own website to customers, many times cheaper than dealer cost is. No new product since then either.
This last year, all that is left is their cheap contractor series stuff. The Voyager outdoor speakers are the only things left that are good.

Reps will tell you that everything is fine and Boston is not going anywhere. LOL!!! Have no idea what they are smoking but it is obvious that Boston has already left the building. Just a matter of when manufacturing will shut down on what they still make. And inventory runs out. 1, 2, 3 years maybe? If there is still new product in 5 years, I would be highly shocked.

Fins,
I would seriously look at putting a different brand speaker in. Explain to the customer that the market has changed A LOT in 10 years and those speakers are either not available anymore or will have no support going forward.
I know KEF has speakers that would fit a lot of the BA rings.

I have a regional disty up here that still carries them. Haven't ordered much from them in a long while but I can see if they have what you need if you want.

Capitol has 9 skus, all very basic.

Fins, if you guys are waist deep in Core stuff, just sell a comparable Speakercraft.

I have one place that was wired for Bravos for rears and there is no way to use anything that Core has. Just about everything else, Iím cutting out those awful Boston brackets to put in speakercraft.

Who is the distributor that has Boston?

Up here it is Easy Access Distribution, out of Mass. Not sure how many skus they carry. The worst brackets I've used are the KEF. Basically just metal sheets with holes. If your client opts for bigger speakers, good luck.

FYI, Bravos are one of the sku that looks to be going away. I have 2 distributors left that sell BA and neither have the Bravos. Looking on line, most places are out as well. But I did see a few pair still on amazon and crutchfield still has a few.

I donít get why, because when we sold Boston, we sold almost as many bravos as anything else. They were a good sounding speaker and great problem solver when there wasnít a way to use in ceiling or in wall speakers.

Bravos were the only thing we could find to put in this project when it was built

Several styles to choose from that would have worked well in an upscale restaurant and 70v system.
