That would be correct! You are basically commanding the kitchen dot to play music on another dot. Kitchen dot is named Kitchen, dot int the using audio out to distribution system is named house or whatever. You will need to tell kitchen dot, or any other dot, the command you need to turn on the speakers in that room. Then tell any dot to play x on house dot. The house dot in rack starts streaming music from the house dot to the amp. Fugg Sonos.

if you say play X in kitchen, it will play on the kitchen dot. If you tell the rack dot to play, it will play on whatever speakers you have on an attached amp.

This sounds just like the Sonos/Alexa skill. I say, "Alexa, Play xxx in the Kitchen" and it plays on Sonos. It seems to favor Amazon Music but the Echo's must also.

Am I missing the advantages here? Streamlined options for music services maybe?

I believe in Rangers scenario you can replace the house dot with sonos and you would have the same effect.

Sonos is handicapped via Alexa, since you can only use voice commands to control the music services you setup and are avail on Alexa. Sonos has way more music options avail but those can't be controlled via Alexa. You then are relegated to using Alexa/Dot purely then for transport commands after initiating or picking music in the sonos app for those services.

Thanks.

What's your opinion of the sound quality? I tried it at home and it was decent- not as good as something more expensive and made specifically for music listening, but it's probably good enough for most people.

The maintenance agreement should include training and re-training for software/app updates. Clients are buying from you because of the product, its the service and your knowledge.....

Paul should continue the video trainings for us on apps and then we can pay him a small fee and we regurgitate it to our client and charge them more....
