never done IP before? can anyone give me a quick start on learning my first one? sony display, power discretes? is there a IP library? is it in drivers? my driver library is empty? ive only ever done ir control (dont laugh)

Unless you intend to create your own driver/module...it would help to know what your control system is.

Sony Bravia IP driver from RTI is available- but haven’t personally used it. Have migrated away from RTI. What we do now for C4 at least is set a static addy and set a “preshare key”. A while back an update defaulted the key to off, thus breaking control. Additionally- occasional android errors have popped up- cache overflow etc... Have 3 setups controlled via WiFi and work perfectly (knocks on wood) though this is frowned upon.

DO NOT USE WIFI. Anytime the power goes off, when it comes back on, the TV's will not power on via IP if they are controlled via IP. It will work if hardwired though. In Cincy we have outages probably once a month, so WiFi for IP control doesn't work for us. Also, you cannot use MAC Address reservations either. when the TV is in standby for a long period of time, it will lose its IP address and wont ping the router for one until it is turned on.
They key is to hardwire it, set the IP in the TV as static, turn on remote start, and Simple IP Control. If you do these things, it will work flawlessly.

I have one that has been on wifi with the C4 driver, and a DHCP reservation for going on 3 years now. I know they have had more than a few power outages. No problems in that time span thus far. :)

What dose the simple IP control tick box enable exactly, ive had a 9405 Sony tv about 12 months old working in IP control without be simple IP enabled, but with all other IP control settings enabled, always wondered what simple IP dose
