We are having issues with unreliable IR codes for new Sony Tv's. All models. Have tried all codes. They work just not every time. Seems more problematic after sending off command, ON command is unresponsive. It works maybe 50 percent of the time so I know codes and setup are fine. All cec etc disabled.

Shouldn't be the remote because we are having this issue on every rti/sony job. Also been problematic with c4 ip control but less so.

Setting in the TV requesting different ir codes after shut down vs after longer period of off?

No ir cable to the TV so it's line off site but could add ir. Could also do ip if that would help.

I've had some issues with Sony and the direct IR in. Enough where I would just use an emitter on the front.

I had to finish some tweaks on a system with a 65x900e with Pro Control one-way today. I was determined to get the direct IR in to work, and work well. I finally did, as mentioned in other threads, using a tiny washer from a TV mount while plugging in the 3.5" mono cable. It felt loose-ish, but with enough tape and zip ties, should be good.

Another issue was the TV wanted to go channel 2 on turn on, no matter what the last input was (obviously HDMI). Making sure the HDMI 1 command was in each macro after a delay worked fine.

The last minor issue, being IR, was delays and repeats. Most systems now, I almost always set the repeats to zero on the processor. The Sony didn't like that for power commands. I had to do 2 repeats with no delay. That seemed to work everytime.

Hope this helps somewhere along the way...

I’ve been having that issue with Sony and Samsung TVs where they won’t turn on after being off for while. But it’s only when trying to use a discrete on command. If you use a remote with a toggle power or push the button on the tv it will turn on then the discrete commands will work for a while. The Sony’s seem to be an issue with android os. When it locks up, after I power it up it does that android start up animation. Very frustrating.

The ir input jack is a stereo mini. We have had no issues with control using ir and RTI.
There's no worse feeling than that millisecond you're sure you are going to die after leaning your chair back a little too far.

We've had to add repeats for this situation. My TV at home worked fine for 5 years and then stopped responding to on/off commands. Increased repeats and all good again.

I know this doesn’t help the OP but I too have had zero issues with the IR In jack. I do, however, CONNECT BOTH THE TIP AND RING to signal.

As far as not completely not coming on after being off for awhile, I haven’t seen that yet but only time will tell.

Yeah, this is my issue.

Not using ir input. Using like off site ir blasted from remote.
URC codes work fine

We use stereo mini and have no issues. We have had one Sony using ip need a power reset and hasn't had an issue since.
