Small aperture speakers from James and Triad get pretty loud.

Not cheap though.

Klipsch's new Pro series in-ceilings... 8" drivers.
High efficiency is the key + power handling.
BUT, parties are parties... they really do get loud.
That's where PA equipment shines.

I'd want a party system I could wheel out (literally) once or twice a year, then a discrete systm to run for the other 363 days of the year...
This industry is not getting cheaper and cheaper, we're simply convincing ourselves that we have to push the cheapest option to customers.
