QQQ

I recollect that you have posted else where that you use 1694 for both RF and base band.
Why do you like 1694 over 8281 for base band video signals. I always thought that the 8281 was the best value in base band and 1694 seems more of an RF cable.

I'm not QQQ, but I would assume that he prefers the larger center conductor (RG6) of the 1694 to that of the RG59 sized 8281. Why would you say that the 1694 is more of an RF cable? If you were interested in saving money and using separate cable, you would probably be using a CCS cable like the Belden 1189.

Also, it's probably easier just running one cable for everything (in case the client changes his mind on what he wants and so the techs don't have one more thing to think about).

I am not exactly sure, but I use 1694A in all of my recording studio installs for Video, Word Clock and any sync signal and it is always awsome. There are cheaper choices but it is quality stuff easy to work with and I have never had any problems!

But please, only use CCS (copper-clad steel) for RF ! ! !
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

The sentence immediately preceding the one you quoted said:
"Why would you say that the 1694 is more of an RF cable? If you were interested in saving money and using separate cable,"

In case that wasn't clear, I was referring to using the CCS for RF only.
