Installed an apple tv in a exercise room so our customer can use a cycling app. The issue is that the C4 remote wont control the directional commands while in the app. When not in the app the C4 remote controls the apple tv like normal. Tried different drivers and different ir hex codes but none of the ones i found worked. The app is "Zwift". Anyone seen this issue?

I have had similar issues with Netflix. Some buttons didn't work. Total buzz kill. We have actually move to the Roku since the AppleTV is such a turd.

We are using the "dvd_Apple_TV_IR.c4i" driver. We tried other apple tv drivers and all had the same issue.

As much of an advocate as I am for control systems in general I love my Apple TV and it really is a MUCH better experience using the included remote or iPhone app to control it. The swipe gestures and voice control make it much easier and faster to navigate. Punching around on an arrow pad really makes the user experience much less fluid.

The typical array of buttons found on universal control systems (even on touch screens that could use swipe gestures and the like) are really getting to be outdated.

I'm pretty sure some "apps" in AppleTV treat swipes on the remote differently than they treat the "arrow" button presses from an older Apple remote and control systems.

While most apps don't care how you input a directional command, I suspect your cycling app only recognizes the swipe... I'd prove this hypotheses by trying to control the app with an older apple remote's arrow buttons. If it responds to the apple remote's arrows then you have some hope of making your control system work. IF not I think your SOL.
I'm Not an engineer, but I play one on TV.
My handle is Tweety but I have nothing to do with the organization of similar name. I just had a really big head as a child so folks called me tweety bird.

swipe on the ATV remote makes me want to break stuff!!! siri, is not to shabby. i use IP control exclusively and do not have these issues. what is the app and i will try it for you to see if it works.
I love supporting product that supports me!

Ya i guess I never thought that the swipe commands would be different than the directional commands. Makes sense though

Just tried the ip driver and still the same issue with control in the "Zwift" app
Probably just an app problem.
