Good luck. We have had a very hard time finding good qualified people in the cincinnati area. All of the good people either own their own company or work for another company getting paid very well. We have found success hiring on someone who has the traits that we like to see in an individual. After we hire them, then we train them, send them to cedia, etc. Where are you located in Cincinnati? I have never heard, of Masterpiece, how long have you been in businnes? What brands do you carry? This is a very fun area to do installations in. Very conservateve city, but very rich and they love their Televisions. Drop me an email I would love to talk.

That's crazy, I've never seen a metropolitan area cover two states like that. I thought it was kinda weird you saying Cincinnati when your address is in KY so I pulled a mapquest and saw your only 15 minutes away from each other.. So how does sales tax work? Do you just ship all you prods from your place to Cincinnati home address and eliminate the sales tax?

We have a OH tax ID and a KY Tax ID have to send sales tax at the end of the mont two both state. It is a royal pain in the butt for the accountant. WE have actually had a sting of incidents where KY police have pulled over several work vehicles trying to see if theyt have a tax ID for KY. If not they then get fined. It is relly a pain to have to do this procedure, but there is really no way that i know about it.

Mike,
I've been in the bus for 13 years mostly in Toledo @ Jamiesons. A?V (Great Company). Came down to Cinci to run Home Theater Design Center(What a Joke). Hooked up with my current business partner in June. We do most of our installs in N. Kentucky, as we get bigger we are finding ourselves more and more in Cinci. As far as I know i'm the area's only CEDIA level II installer. We sell BenQ, Integra, Polk, Legacy, Niles, LG, Integra Research, B&K........

Dean, Great to hear from you. I will pay you a million dollars to come work with me. I really miss working with such talented people. Yes, Even Larry. Shoot me an e-mail. Mike, I agree with you about CEDIA, but with being a smaller company it is nice for the customer to have some other assurances that you are a reputable company. As far as the CEDIA II certification, I am no better of an installer because of it. but again it means alot to some customers. The only Sony problems I've had is with the 5000ES and its component upconversion.
