Closed my photobucket account and would like to have one that will allow for links to web pages.

What is everyone using now?

Sometimes it's helpful to look up old threads, and it's a bummer when there was an image but it's no longer there. That gets in the way of my edumacation.

Does your google storage, or other suggestions to be made, hold onto the images forever? They say when it's on the internet, it's there forever, but over the years I've run into maybe a hundred deleted images.

By the way, the thread title just hit me: "that can be linked." When I post an image, for instance , I don't create a link. I right click on an image in a web page, then click on Copy image address" and paste it into my text. Is this what you mean by linking?

Hree's one from a random art site:

No links. Just right click, then copy and paste.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

once something hits the internet, it likely will always be on the internet... But not necessary in the same place forever.

Sites go down, stuff gets moved around. sometimes people try to scrub pics.... but they've been copied....

there is no guarantee anything is going to stay in the same location forever. For example, Photobucket, one of the largest, most popular hosts recently decided to go to a pay service and broke millions of old free hosted links in the process. Hence why so many people are looking for new places to link.

Most broken image links are because the owner of the account they were linked through deleted it

If you want to be able to link to images and have them be there forever get yourself some cheap hosting space and download filezilla.

I downloaded all the pics I had on Photobucket to a thumb drive, so now sharing an image on something other than FB and a very few other places doesn't work that I can tell.

Y'all probably don't want to see my crap, and the only reason I used Photobucket was for sharing anyway.
