Yes, another Sonos new app sucks thread...

Aside form a control system (c4, URC etc) or native apps (Pandora, Spotify) or Voice control... Anyone using alternate apps to control Sonos? Sonopad/Sonophone etc. Any other ideas?

Curious of results out in the wild.

Three calls already this morning from people who can't figure out the new Sonos app.

My handle is Tweety but I have nothing to do with the organization of similar name. I just had a really big head as a child so folks called me tweety bird.

While I hate the new app, I don't find it all that hard to use. The one thing I have to explain to people is to pull down on the screen to bring the ribbon back to navigate. Oh, and that the rooms that shows up at the bottom of the window when you are in a room is used to group, not to switch rooms. You have to swipe down to get the ribbon and select the Rooms button to change rooms. That is the most confusing part of the new app I feel.

Right... and people don't get that nor do they remember it. Thus the problem.

The 160 actually sounds pretty good but Sonos has way more services. Most of my customers use Apple Music and to a lesser extent Google and Sirius/XM and ieast doesn't have this

I realize what makes the app so hard to use....it’s the IPhone X and lack of gone button, so you see the bottom swipe up bar and think it’s part of Sonos. This is on top of the horrendous app layout and having to select your room, hope you don’t hit the group button then go back to choose your music selection. Want different music in different rooms? You better have a damn good memory

Nothing new here... I guess no one has used SonoPad / SonoPhone?

I like the way they work, much more simple and intuitive... I just don't know if they are reliable enough to deploy to customers.

I have used the Lutron Caseta integration. Works well for what it is! I assume RA2 would be no different!
